Uttarakhand Tour (7N/8D)

8 Days / 7 Nights

Overview

MAKE 8 TH DAY a scenic loop. Begin with Kumaon’s lakeside beauty, explore the wildlife-rich surroundings of Jim Corbett, experience the riverside energy of Rishikesh, and chill out in the mountain scenery of Mussoorie. You start with two nights in Nainital, where the days go to Naini Lake, Snow View Point, the Naina Devi Temple, the Tibetan Market and Mall Road.

From there, the road drops into the foothills to Jim Corbett National Park, India's oldest national park, with stops at the Jim Corbett Museum and Corbett Falls on the way. An early-morning jungle safari opens day four before you drive on to Rishikesh for two nights – the Beatles Ashram, Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula, an afternoon of white-water rafting on the Ganga and the Ganga Aarti at sunset. The last two nights are in Mussoorie, with Mall Road on foot on arrival and a full day for Kempty Falls, Lal Tibba and Gun Hill.

The plan suits families, couples and groups of friends who want hills, wildlife and a little adventure in one trip, without changing hotels every night. In particular, it is recommended to visit Nainital, Mussoorie, and do a jungle safari in March – June, while in Jim Corbett National Park, for wildlife sightings, it is best to plan your trip in October – February, when there are few clouds in the mountains, cool nights, and long days. However, July – August is not recommended for visiting Rishikesh for river rafting, since during these months there are torrential rains in the region.

Is the Jim Corbett jungle safari part of the itinerary?

Yes, in the morning of the 4th day of the trip, you will have a safari in Jim Corbett National Park, followed by a drive to Rishikesh. Safari zones depend on a limited number of safari permits and seasonal conditions; that's why early booking is required for the required slots.
