Haridwar Rishikesh Tour Package (3N/4D)

4 Days / 3 Nights

Overview

This Haridwar Rishikesh tour package is a short spiritual break from Delhi, built around two of north India's holiest towns on the Ganga. Two nights in Haridwar, one of the seven holiest cities of India, where the Ganga flows in to the plains, and one night in Rishikesh, the yoga town which is at the base of the Garhwal Hills, with time at the ghats and temples of both.

At Har Ki Pauri, the first night concludes with the Ganga Aarti, where the priests hold large brass lamps and the devotees float leaf-boat diyas on the river. Day 2 covers Har Ki Pauri by daylight, the old Maya Devi Temple, the hilltop Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temples and Shanti Kunj, the ashram of the All World Gayatri Pariwar, with an evening in the bazaars. On day 3 you move to Rishikesh for Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula and Triveni Ghat, with optional white-water rafting on the Ganga if you want some adventure.

The trip suits families, older travellers and first-time pilgrims who want an easy pace and short drives – Haridwar is about 5 hours from Delhi. You stay in 3-star hotels with breakfast every morning and travel in a private vehicle, with pick-up and drop at Delhi railway station or airport.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the Ganga Aarti take place at Har Ki Pauri?

Ganga Aarti usually starts around sunset late in summer and early in winter, as the crowds start gathering there, so you should reach the destination around 45 minutes earlier to get a good spot, especially on weekends and festival days. Confirm the exact start time with your hotel or driver on the day.

How far is Rishikesh from Haridwar?

It takes roughly 25km from Haridwar, depending on traffic. Day 3 will comprise Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, and Triveni Ghat, with Ganga rafting in the afternoon.

Is river rafting included in the package?

No, it is optional; rafting is included at your own expense. Rishikesh offers different options, from beginner-friendly routes to more challenging stretches for all types of rafters. The rafting season runs from mid-September to June. Ages and fitness criteria are set by the operators

Is this package suitable for elderly parents?

Yes, a tour can be planned with comfort in mind for elderly family members. The short drives and a convenient stay with easy access to sightings, e.g Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temples, through ropeways instead of walking uphill, also make the ghats easy to explore. Let us know about any special requirements so we can plan a comfortable itinerary.

What is the best time to visit Haridwar and Rishikesh?

October to April, I considered a good time for exploring Haridwar and Rishikesh because of pleasant days and cool evenings by the river. In summer, the temperature is at its peak, and pilgrims are still busy; in the monsoon, due to heavy rain, rafting activity is paused; and in the month of Sawan, the Kavad Yatra is held in Haridwar; hence, it is crowded

Can I stay longer in Rishikesh for yoga?

Yes, Rishikesh focuses on yoga and wellness; hence, it is known internationally as the yoga capital. Extra nights can be added to your package, and yoga sessions are booked and paid for separately at your chosen ashram or studio
