Binsar Tour Package (2 Nights / 3 Days)
Overview
Binsar is one of the calmest hill stations in Kumaon, located on a hardwood mountain ridge north-east of Almora, which used to be the summertime capital of the Chand rulers and presently protected as Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. This hillside can be seen all up to the Himalayas from Nanda Devi and Trishul peaks to Panchachuli. This Binsar tour tour from Delhi includes one full day spent at the site after two long yet scenic drives.
During the tours, there will be visits to Zero Point, the highest point of the sanctuary, and Kasar Devi Temple not far from Almora, where Swami Vivekananda made his meditation in 1890. Apart from that, you will also go to Bineshwar Mahadev Temple and historic Khali Estate, situated in the depths of the sanctuary’s oak and rhododendron forests.
The package is priced for a group of four, so it suits two couples, a family or friends who want fresh air, birdwatching, and quiet walks rather than busy hill-station crowds. You stay in a 3-star hotel on double occupancy with breakfast every morning, and travel in a private vehicle with pick-up and drop-off at Delhi railway station or airport.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the price calculated for four people?
The cost of the tour is based on four people travelling together in two double rooms with one vehicle assigned to them. If you are travelling alone or with more people, please let us know so that we will adjust the price accordingly.
What is the ideal time to visit Binsar?
The optimal period to visit Binsar is from October to December, and then from March to June. The fall or early winter season generally gives one the clearest views of the Himalayan mountain range from Zero Point, while the spring season is characterized by the blooming of the rhododendrons present everywhere in the sanctuary. Winters are cold, while the monsoon season stretches from July to September.
How far is Binsar from Delhi?
Binsar is about 393 km away from Delhi, which is a tough journey of about 10 hours through the plains and the Kumaon hills, which is why days 1 and 3 are travel days. However, if you wish to shorten the road journey, you can take a train to Kathgodam, and we shall pick you up from there.
What can I see from Zero Point?
On a clear day, Zero Point looks out over a long stretch of the Himalaya, including Nanda Devi, Trishul and the Panchachuli peaks. Mornings usually give the clearest views, before the clouds build. The viewpoint is reached by a walk through the forest, so allow enough time and wear comfortable shoes.
Is birdwatching worth it in Binsar?
Indeed, it is. The Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary has several oak and rhododendron trees that are home to a variety of Himalayan birds. Moreover, the peaceful atmosphere makes birdwatching even more enjoyable in this sanctuary. Opt for early-morning walks with a pair of good binoculars to observe birds. Apart from birds, leopards and barking deer are other animals living here.
What is the significance of Kasar Devi Temple?
Kasar Devi Temple is a small temple located on a hill near Almora and dedicated to the goddess Kasar. It is popular because the temple is believed to be the place where Swami Vivekananda meditated in the year 1890. After that, Kasar Devi Temple attracted artists, writers, and pilgrims from various parts of the world.
