Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Jibhi and why should one visit it?
Jibhi is a small village located in the Kullu district, not far from Banjar. It is a small drive from Aut, located on the Kullu-Mandi highway. It is known for wooden houses, pine trees, and waterfalls that one can reach with the help of wooden bridges, and for the road leading to Jalori Pass. It seems to be less busy than Manali or Kasol and hence fits into the concept of an offbeat trip.
Is the Chalal trek hard?
Not really. The trek from Kasol to Chalal is short and easy-going with most of the track being along the Parvati River among pine forests and going over wooden bridges. Most people with moderate fitness levels can trek easily. Just wear a good pair of shoes with a good grip as there are some rocky areas along the way which may get slippery after rain.
When is the best time to visit Manali, Kasol and Jibhi?
March to June and October to November are the best months to visit regarding good weather, road conditions, and days suitable for hiking. In winter, there is snow in the Solang Valley, and Jalori Pass may be closed, while from July to September there could be landslides on mountain roads during monsoon season, so be flexible with your plans during that time period.
Are the Solang Valley activities included?
No. Paragliding, zip-lining, zorbing, ATV rides and ropeway rides are optional and paid at Solang Valley. Skiing and snow activities are possible in winter when there is enough snow. Prices and availability depend on the season and the weather, so you can decide on the day what you would like to try.
How do we get back to Delhi from Jibhi?
On day 5, after the Jibhi sightseeing, you are driven to Aut on the Kullu–Mandi highway to board the overnight Volvo to Delhi. You will reach Delhi on the morning of Day 6 so it would be wise to schedule your onward journey no earlier than that and to allow for some margin of error on the mountain roads.
Who is most suitable for this Himachal tour?
This particular tour is most suited to friends and couples fond of visiting cafes, short hikes, and small villages. Days are filled with activities, while two overnight journeys enable easy sightseeing during daylight hours. Families with young children need to consider a daytime travel itinerary, which can be arranged on request.
