Royal Tour Package of Chittorgarh and Udaipur (3N/4D)

4 Days / 3 Nights

Overview

Want to know Rajasthan's royal charm? Start by visiting Udaipur, the City of Lakes, followed by a day trip to Chittorgarh, home to one of India’s grandest historic forts. You stay all three nights in one Udaipur hotel, so there is no packing and unpacking, and the first day is kept free after you arrive – time to wander the old-city lanes, look for Rajasthani handicrafts and try a traditional thali.

Day two is a full city tour of Udaipur, set among lakes and the green Aravalli hills: the City Palace on the shore of Lake Pichola, the hilltop Sajjangarh (Monsoon) Palace, the Vintage Car Museum and a view of Jag Mandir on its island, ending with a quiet evening and sunset by the lake. On the 3rd day, visit the UNESCO-listed Chittorgarh fort, where ancient palaces, temples, and towers tell stories of Rajput valour, Rana Kumbha’s Palace, and admire Vijay Stambha, then return to Udaipur in the evening.

The tour suits couples, families and anyone with a long weekend who wants Udaipur's lakes and palaces plus one of Rajasthan's great historic forts. You stay in a 3-star hotel with daily breakfast, travel by private vehicle, and are picked up and dropped at Udaipur airport or railway station.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the distance of Chittorgarh from Udaipur?

The measured distance is 120 km from Udaipur to Chittorgarh, up to 3 hours each way in a private vehicle. It is a day trip on day 3: you leave after breakfast, spend the middle of the day at the fort, and return to the same Udaipur hotel in the evening, so there is no hotel change.

Is the boat trip on Lake Pichola included?

A boat trip isn't included in this package. Although you will be able to see Jag Mandir and the lake palaces from the shore, we could arrange for a boat ride on Lake Pichola for you if you wish to go out on the water. Entry tickets to the monument and museum are also purchased separately.

What is the distance between Chittorgarh and Udaipur?

Chittorgarh is approximately 120 km from Udaipur and can take up to three hours each way if you are traveling in a private vehicle. On day three, you take the trip during the day, leave after breakfast, spend the middle of the day at the fort, and then go back to the same hotel in Udaipur in the evening, meaning that you do not change hotels.

What else is there to see inside Chittorgarh Fort?

Besides Rana Kumbha's Palace and the Vijay Stambha, the fort holds Rani Padmini's Palace, the Kirti Stambha (Tower of Fame) and the Meera Temple. Tell your driver if you would like to see more of them; it depends on time, as the fort covers a large area and the drive back takes up to 3 hours.

Can this tour be recommended for families and for older travellers?

Yes, all three nights are spent at the same hotel, day one is free, and the city tour proceeds at a slow pace. Since the Chittorgarh day includes a long drive and some walking on uneven ground, please let us know if there is anyone with limited mobility so that we can arrange the stops to suit them.

May we make the tour longer or include more locations?

Certainly, you have the option of including a night in Udaipur, upgrading to a 4-star or heritage hotel, or extending your journey to Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur or Mount Abu. Just let us know your dates, and we'll send you a revised quotation.
