Kashmir Honeymoon Package – 4N/5D with Gulmarg & Pahalgam
Overview
This Kashmir honeymoon package is all about capturing the very essence of the valley's most romantic moments over four nights and five days. You arrive with a cup of saffron and almond kahwa and spend the night on a beautifully carved houseboat on Dal Lake. The day is spent in the Shalimar, Nishat and Chashme Shahi gardens, and you finish off with a shikara ride across the lake on a cushioned boat as the sun sets.
Day 2 is a day trip to Gulmarg (approx 2 hours away) for meadow walks and, if the weather is clear, then an optional gondola ride to Kongdoori or higher up towards Apharwat. Day 3 is a drive past the saffron fields and apple orchards to Pahalgam on the Lidder River, with the afternoon spent in the Betaab and Aru valleys (Chandanwari is optional). The final full day is back in Srinagar for a wander through Lal Chowk's shawl and dry fruit shops, an optional carpet weaving visit and an evening in the cafes along Dal Lake.
It's ideal for couples with minimal leave who just want a houseboat night, some time in Gulmarg's meadows and snow, and a night in the mountains without having to make too many hotel changes. You're staying in 3-star properties on double occupancy with breakfast every morning. Travel is by private vehicle with driver, and you're picked up and dropped off at the Srinagar airport.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 4N/5D enough for a Kashmir honeymoon?
Yes, for a first visit. In five days you get a night on a houseboat on Dal Lake. You spend a full day in Gulmarg. You stay one night in Pahalgam with visits to Betaab and Aru valleys. You also have a relaxed shopping day in Srinagar. If you have more time, we can add Sonamarg or a second night in Pahalgam for an extra cost.
Is the Gulmarg Gondola included in this honeymoon package?
The gondola is optional and is paid for separately. Phase 1 takes you to Kongdoori meadow, and Phase 2 continues on to Apharwat Peak. Both of these are subject to weather and ticket availability, and tickets can of course sell out in peak season. Let us know when you book if you'd like to plan for it.
When is the best time for this Kashmir honeymoon?
Spring (April to June) sees the Mughal Gardens in flower and the green meadows of Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Autumn (September to November) is clear and golden with saffron in flower from late October. Winter sees Gulmarg under snow for snow play and skiing and Srinagar quiet and cold.
What is a houseboat stay on Dal Lake like?
Kashmir's houseboats are moored wooden boats with carved interiors, a sitting room, a dining area and bedrooms, usually reached by a short shikara ride from the shore. Your first night is spent on one, with breakfast the next morning. For many couples it is a highlight of the trip.
What can we shop for in Srinagar?
Lal Chowk and the nearby markets are good for pashmina and embroidered shawls, pherans, papier-mâché, copperware, saffron and dry fruits such as walnuts, almonds and apricots. Buy pashmina and saffron from reputable shops and ask for a bill. The optional carpet-weaving visit shows how hand-knotted rugs are made.
Can you arrange something special for our honeymoon?
Yes. We can add flower decoration on the houseboat, a honeymoon cake or a candlelit dinner, or upgrade your houseboat and hotels where available, all at extra cost. Share your dates and wishes, and we will send you a revised quotation.
